2025 Toyota Fortuner Facelift Boosts Sporty Design and Off-Road Power

Details of the 2025 Toyota Fortuner facelift was revealed recently and it will be available with two powertrain options: a 2.7-liter petrol and a 2.8-liter turbo diesel. It will go on sale next month. While bookings are yet to start officially, some pan-India dealerships have started accepting its offline bookings ahead of its launch. If you are interested in the 2025 Fortuner facelift and are planning to book one, here’s everything you need to know about it.

2025 Toyota Fortuner: Exterior

The 2025 Toyota Fortuner has an evolutionary design over the pre-facelifted model. It comes with a redesigned front grille with chrome accents, signature LED headlamps and powerful LED fog lamps that look imposing. It also features black portions on the front and rear bumpers that make it look sportier.

While the overall silhouette remains familiar, it gets new sportier alloy wheels that enhance its rugged appeal. Moreover, another major change is the inclusion of flush-type door handles with illumination that give the SUV a more premium touch.

Another notable change on the 2025 Fortuner is the redesigned LED tail lights that look more modern and striking than the outgoing model.

2025 Toyota Fortuner: Interior

The interior design has been revised too with a premium-looking dashboard design that features a driver-focused layout. A large touchscreen infotainment system dominates the center console, while the instrument cluster is now a fully digital unit, providing customizable information displays.

The seats get high-quality leather upholstery that makes the cabin look more luxurious than before. Special mention should be made of the seats which are wide, supportive and designed for long-distance comfort with ventilation functions on premium variants.

2025 Toyota Fortuner: Powertrain Options

The 2025 Fortuner comes with two primary engine choices. The improved 2.7-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque, making it ideal for urban driving conditions.

The diesel drivetrain is what truly defines the Fortuner’s performance reputation. The 2.8-liter turbo diesel now produces an impressive 204 PS and up to 500 Nm of torque, providing effortless acceleration and exceptional towing capability.

Both engines come paired with advanced transmission options that ensure smooth power delivery in all driving conditions.

2025 Toyota Fortuner: Off-Road Capabilities

The Fortuner stands out by excelling both on and off the road. It features a robust foundation with excellent articulation in challenging conditions and a generous ground clearance of up to 225 mm, allowing it to clear obstacles with ease.

The Fortuner’s 4×4 system comes with a lockable center differential and low-range transfer case, making this premium SUV capable of navigating terrain that would be impossible for most competitors.

Safety Features and Ownership Experience

In line with its premium positioning, the 2025 Fortuner comes with an extensive safety package. It features seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, for comprehensive protection. It also comes equipped with Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Traction Control, and Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.

Toyota’s legendary reliability is particularly evident in the Fortuner, with many examples still running strong after 300,000 km with proper maintenance. This reliability translates into excellent resale value, with the Fortuner maintaining a higher percentage of its purchase price over time compared to almost all its competitors.
