Details of the upcoming Harley-Davidson X500 suggest it will arrive in the Indian market by late 2025. The mid-weight motorcycle will be the brand’s second offering after the X440, which was developed in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp. The X500 will compete directly with motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Benelli Leoncino 500, and Kawasaki Z500.
Harley-Davidson X500: Design
The X500 takes a roadster-oriented approach with aggressive styling and compact dimensions. It features urban-focused ergonomics while retaining classic Harley design cues.
Unlike traditional heavyweight cruisers from the American manufacturer, the X500 is built to appeal to riders who want power without the bulk of a big V-Twin.
The motorcycle has been developed by Harley-Davidson and QJMotor, and is already on sale in international markets including China and Australia.
Harley-Davidson X500: Engine and Performance
The bike is powered by a 500cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers approximately 47.5 PS at 8,500 rpm and 46 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and is tuned for both city performance and highway cruising.
With a kerb weight of around 208 kg, the X500 offers a planted feel on the road, and its upright riding posture ensures comfort for daily use.
Harley-Davidson X500: Features
The X500 is equipped with upside-down front forks and twin rear shocks for suspension duties. Braking is handled by dual front disc brakes with ABS.
It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and features LED lighting throughout the motorcycle.
The instrument panel is a modern digital unit that provides all necessary information to the rider.
Harley-Davidson X500: Launch Details
The launch of the X500 in India is expected to follow the same strategy as the X440, utilizing the Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson partnership.
Insiders suggest that Harley-Davidson has already begun internal testing of the X500 in India, with homologation processes potentially underway.

Harley-Davidson X500: Expected Price
While the X440 is priced under ₹3 lakh, the X500 is expected to be positioned between ₹5.5 to ₹6.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
At this price point, it will compete with established players in the mid-weight motorcycle segment.
The Harley brand name carries significant appeal, but pricing and dealer support will play a crucial role in shaping buyer decisions in this competitive segment.
