A New Look for a Practical MPV
If you’ve been waiting for a value for money family car with more style, the updated Renault Triber might be worth the wait. Launches on July 23, this is the model’s first major update since 2019, and it gets a new face while staying true to its practical self.
Design Tweaks with More Road Presence
The updated Triber gets a visible makeover. There’s a new front end, with a horizontal slat grille, black cladding and sharper headlamps with LED DRLs. A larger air intake, round fog lamps and new alloys give it a stronger stance without losing its daily usability.
And Renault has kept the modular 7-seater layout, which is the biggest selling point in this segment.
Inside: Subtle Changes, Smarter Features
Inside, the changes are more subtle. Expect new interior trims and upholstery, possibly an updated instrument cluster (moving to a digital setup). The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system remains, but auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and 360-degree camera could make it to top variants.
It’s still a Triber, just with more thoughtful bits.
Same Engine, Same Performance
Under the hood, the facelift sticks with the existing 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm, with a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Renault will also continue to offer a CNG option, so you have more choices. As for the 1.0-litre turbo from the Kiger, it’s still unclear if it will join the lineup.
Biggest Upgrade? Safety Could Be the Hero
Renault seems ready to step up safety in the facelifted Triber. The current version has a 4-star Global NCAP rating and the facelift may get six airbags as standard or across more trims – just in time for India’s stricter safety norms.
Price and Launch
The current Triber lineup is priced between ₹6.14 lakh and ₹8.75 lakh (ex-showroom), and the updated model is expected to come with a modest price bump. The facelift will see a small increase – maybe from ₹6.25 lakh. This is part of Renault’s plan to launch five new models in India by 2027, so they’re here to stay.
