If you’re looking for an electric SUV with long range, safety tech and everyday practicality, Maruti Suzuki has something big coming. The all-new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is launching in September 2025 and it’s going to disrupt India’s EV space with 500+ km range, Level 2 ADAS and a dedicated electric platform.
This is Maruti’s first mass market EV and from what we’ve seen so far – it’s fully charged for success.
Fresh Design, Built for EV Life
e Vitara isn’t just a converted petrol car. It’s built on the all new HEARTECT-e electric platform, which means more cabin space, longer wheelbase and a solid EV foundation.
Design wise it has NEXTrè 3-Point Matrix LED DRLs, flush door handles and sculpted aero alloys. It looks futuristic but still feels like a true SUV.
Two Battery Packs, One Mission: Range
Buyers will get to choose between two blade-cell LFP battery options from BYD:
- The smaller 49 kWh pack teams up with a 144 PS motor and can comfortably deliver up to 346 km of range under the WLTP cycle.
- 61 kWh with 174 PS and 500+ km range (MIDC-rated).
Both will be front-wheel drive and the larger pack will charge from 0-80% in about 50 minutes via DC fast charger – road trip ready, no doubt.
Loaded Cabin with ADAS & Comfort Tech
Inside it’s all premium and practical. You get a 10.11-inch infotainment screen, digital cluster and India’s first Maruti with Level 2 ADAS – including Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise and Emergency Braking.
Other top features:
- 7 airbags including driver knee airbag
- Ventilated seats for the hot Indian summer
- The rear seats can slide, recline, and fold in a 40:20:40 configuration, giving you more flexibility for cargo and passengers.
- You also get smart touches like a full-surround camera view, an auto-hold parking brake, and remote access features through the Suzuki Connect platform.
- You also get multi-color ambient lighting and a fixed-glass sunroof that adds to the cabin’s airy, premium vibe.
Expected Price & Rivals
The e Vitara will be priced between ₹17 to ₹22.5 lakh (ex-showroom) – which puts it in the same league as:
