Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift Coming Soon With More Features and Better Looks

The updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift is set to launch in India with fresh styling, upgraded tech, and enhanced safety.

I still can’t get over the Hyundai Ioniq 5. I remember the first time I saw one on the road. It didn’t just look futuristic, it felt like a glimpse into what cars could be. Now, Hyundai is taking it further. The updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift is all set to launch in India around August or September 2025, with more tech, better safety and sharper styling.

Sharper on the Outside, Smarter on the Inside

The core design still looks good with those iconic pixel lights but there are a few nice updates. Redesigned bumpers, new dual tone alloys and a slightly longer rear spoiler make it look sportier. Not too flashy, just cleaner and more confident.

Inside, it feels more thought out. Hyundai has added physical buttons for essentials like seat heating and park assist — finally, no digging through screens. The new black bezels look better than the old white ones and the updated center console makes daily use easier. The infotainment system is quicker and more customizable now with split screen support which makes sense.

Safety That Feels Personal

What impressed me the most was Hyundai’s focus on everyday safety. The facelift gets eight airbags, including side airbags for rear passengers. Reinforced doors and pillars give you peace of mind. Features like Hands-On Detection, smart parking and collision avoidance tech are all part of the package — and they work.

Familiar Power, Proven Range

India sticks with the 72.6 kWh battery and rear wheel drive. With 217 PS and 350 Nm, it’s quick and smooth and that 631 km of claimed range still holds good. Hyundai is keeping it simple here — and smart.

Should You Wait For It?

If you’re looking at a premium EV, this one’s worth waiting for. Expected to start at ₹47 to ₹48 lakh, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift blends futuristic looks with practical updates. It will go against the Kia EV6 and BMW iX1 but I think Hyundai has the right balance.

Launch is just weeks away, so watch out.
