I just saw the new Volvo XC60 facelift that launched in India today and let me tell you, it’s the kind of SUV that makes you pause for a moment. There’s nothing loud or flashy here, but it’s got this quiet confidence like a well-tailored suit that doesn’t need to shout to get attention.

At first glance the front looks sharper with a new grille pattern that instantly draws your eyes to that classic Volvo badge. The smoked “Thor’s Hammer” LED lights add a modern edge, especially when paired with new dual-tone alloy wheels. The fresh Forest Lake and Vapour Grey shades? Absolutely classy. I can imagine this SUV parked in a posh driveway and it would blend in while still turning heads.

But step inside and that’s where things get interesting. The moment I saw the new 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen I felt like the cabin had entered a more premium, digital-first world. The visuals are crisp thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon platform and using the interface feels smooth like swiping through your favourite apps on a top-end phone.

And it’s not just looks. Volvo has packed in Google Built-in so now you have Google Maps, Assistant, even the Play Store right there on the dash. Plus OTA updates so your tech won’t get old anytime soon.

What I really like is how Volvo keeps the comfort game strong. You still get quilted upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and that serene cabin vibe they’re known for. It’s got a mild-hybrid powertrain with 247 bhp, AWD and enough torque to make those weekend getaways effortless.

Priced at around ₹72.50 lakh the Volvo XC60 Facelift is clearly targeting buyers who want subtle luxury with brains behind the beauty. And honestly after today’s launch I think it gets that balance just right.
