Hero MotoCorp is all set to make some noise in the 125cc segment. The company has confirmed that two new 125cc bikes will hit the market before the festive season and it looks like they’re targeting Honda and Bajaj.
Why Hero is Gearing Up
The 125cc motorcycle space has become the hottest battleground. It’s where riders graduating from 100cc bikes come looking for something with more style, a bit more power and yet easy on the pocket when it comes to fuel. Right now Hero has 12.8% of this segment, behind Honda and Bajaj. That’s not a comfortable position for India’s largest two-wheeler maker especially with Honda’s new CB125 Hornet making all the noise.
What to Expect from the New Bikes
Hero’s management has hinted at “best-in-class technology and style” for one of the new bike which sounds like a fresh, modern machine loaded with the kind of tech today’s riders want. The second bike is said to be a refreshed 4D 125cc variant possibly a big update to an existing favourite, built to deliver better efficiency and more reliability.
Currently Hero’s 125cc family has three strong legs: the sporty Xtreme 125R, the stylish Glamour and the tough Super Splendor XTec. These two new additions will add more meat to the lineup, covering a wider range of riders from those looking for sharp looks and tech to those who just want a reliable daily companion.
If everything goes as planned the Hero, Two New 125cc Bikes strategy will help the brand regain market share and give buyers more reason to skip the competition this festive season.
