I’ve seen a lot of scooters over the years, but the VLF Mobster feels like it’s about to rewrite the rulebook. Slated to hit the stage on September 25, this Italian-designed machine looks more like a streetfighter on two wheels than a typical city runabout. Designed by Alessandro Tartarini, it’s got sharp edges, exposed mechanical bits, and a twin LED headlight that seems to glare back at you. I can already imagine heads turning when one rolls past in traffic.
When I first saw its pictures, the word “ordinary” didn’t even come to mind. The VLF Mobster Scooter Launch brings with it an integrated dashcam, straight from the factory. In India’s chaotic traffic, that’s like having a silent witness riding along with you. The 5-inch TFT display mirrors your phone, guides you with navigation, and shows your calls and texts. Dual-channel switchable ABS gives stopping power that feels sharp, confident, and safe.
The brand is teasing two engines, a liquid-cooled 125cc and a 180cc. I’m leaning toward the 180cc myself with 18 bhp and 15.7 Nm for quick bursts at green lights. Both sit on a strong steel frame with hydraulic suspension, making potholes and speed breakers far less punishing.
If you ask me, the VLF Mobster is shaping up to be more than just a ride, it’s going to be a style statement you park outside your home.
