Tata Safari 2025 Coming Soon with Major Upgrades

The new Safari 2025 is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the three-row SUV space in India. The updated model gets significant improvements in fuel efficiency, technology and design compared to the current version.

Industry sources indicate the Safari 2025 will address consumer feedback points while maintaining the model’s existing positioning. Launch is expected in the third quarter of 2025 and pre-bookings will start soon.

Better Fuel Efficiency for Urban Buyers

The Safari 2025 gets optimized engine calibration for better mileage across all driving conditions. The 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine now delivers an estimated 16.8 kmpl in combined driving, 12% more than the outgoing model.

The engine control system now features revised software that improves the injection timing and turbocharger response. The automatic transmission version gets tweaked gear mapping that aims for efficiency in city driving but still keeps the car on pace on the highway.

The manual transmission variant shows even better numbers, with preliminary testing indicating 18.2 kmpl under ideal conditions. This puts the Safari 2025 in a better position against its segment rivals in terms of cost of ownership.

Technology Upgrade

The new Safari gets several technology updates to cater to modern connectivity needs. The infotainment system grows to a 14-inch touchscreen display from the current 12.3-inch, with wireless smartphone integration as standard across all variants.

Advanced driver assistance features now include 12 safety systems, with adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking added to the existing list. The 360-degree camera system gets higher resolution sensors for better clarity during parking.

Interior technology includes wireless charging for all rows, multiple USB-C ports and a premium audio system with better sound processing. The digital instrument cluster remains 12.3-inch but gets new display themes and customization options.

Design Refinements for Today

Exterior updates include a new front grille with horizontal chrome elements and revised LED headlamp signatures. The bumper has new fog lamp housings and additional chrome accents to look premium.

Side profile changes include new 18-inch alloy wheels and updated body cladding to emphasize the SUV’s ruggedness. The rear has connected LED tail lamps and a new tailgate design with integrated spoiler elements.

Interior changes focus on material quality and color scheme. The dashboard has soft-touch materials in high touch areas and seat upholstery options with new leather-like finishes and contrasting stitching.

Variant and Pricing Strategy

The Safari 2025 retains the same variant structure and introduces feature redistributions across trims. The base variant gets more standard equipment and top-end models get more luxury features and tech.

Competition

The Safari 2025 competes with Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus in the premium 3-row SUV space. The improved fuel efficiency addresses a key competitive disadvantage and the feature pack matches or beats rivals.

The Safari 2025 is Tata Motors’ continued focus on the premium SUV space, where they are combining their strengths with modern requirements to stay relevant in India’s changing automotive landscape.
