I’ve been following Harley’s electric journey for a while now, but what LiveWire showed at the 2024 Homecoming event in Milwaukee genuinely made me stop and take notice. Two new electric bike concepts. Both smaller, lighter, and—if I’m being honest—way more fun-looking than I expected.
These aren’t big, loud machines meant to dominate highways. They’re compact, simple, and surprisingly inviting. One’s built for the streets, and the other’s clearly meant for a bit of dirt and trail play. Think city commutes or weekend rides out back.
Something Different This Time
Right away, I noticed how approachable they looked. Low seat height, clean frame design, no extra fluff. The street version has slicker tires for zipping through traffic. The trail one has chunky rubber that says it’s ready to get muddy.
And both come with removable batteries. That’s a big deal. No waiting around for a full charge. Just pop in a fresh one and keep going. Top speed is around 85 km/h, and it hits 30 mph in about 3 seconds. Not crazy fast, but fast enough to keep things fun. LiveWire claims a 100-mile range, which sounds decent for bikes this size.
Real-World Ready
You can tell there’s influence from Kymco too. A few parts have their look and feel, which isn’t a bad thing. They know this lightweight EV space well. LiveWire hasn’t said what the final names will be, but they’ve trademarked “Doki” and “Spur,” which honestly sound kind of cool.

Here’s what I liked most. These bikes didn’t feel like tech demos or overpriced showpieces. They looked rideable. Real. Like something you or I could jump on without needing to be an expert.
If this is where Harley’s headed, I’m genuinely curious. I might even want one.
