New Honda City Sport Launched at ₹14.89 Lakh with Blacked-Out Styling!

If you’re someone who loves sporty design but still wants the practicality of a mid-size sedan, Honda’s new City Sport edition might just catch your eye. Launched at ₹14.89 lakh (ex-showroom), this is a limited-run model aimed at younger drivers who want a bold-looking City with a unique attitude.

What’s Different About the City Sport?

The Honda City Sport is based on the mid-level V CVT trim but gets a full blacked-out treatment both inside and out. That includes a gloss-black grille, dark grey alloys, black roof lining, and even red-stitched black leather seats. While the powertrain remains the same as the regular petrol CVT variant, the styling here is all about standing out.

Design Highlights

Everything on the outside has been darkened to create a sporty theme. Instead of chrome, you now get:

  • Gloss-black front grille and shark fin antenna
  • Grey alloy wheels and blacked-out ORVMs
  • Trunk lip spoiler and a ‘Sport’ badge to set it apart

It’s available in three body colors: Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl (extra charge), and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.

Cabin Experience

Step inside, and the City Sport greets you with a completely black interior featuring red highlights. From the seats and dash inserts to the ambient lighting, it’s designed to feel different from the usual beige-heavy setup. You still get Honda’s 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus auto climate control and rear AC vents.

Engine and Driving Feel

Under the hood, there’s no change. It continues with the tried-and-tested 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox. You get paddle shifters too for that extra driving fun. It makes 121 PS of power and delivers around 18.4 kmpl mileage (ARAI figure), which is solid for its segment.

Safety First

Even though it’s a sportier take on the City, Honda hasn’t skipped out on safety. The City Sport comes with six airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, and even Honda Sensing ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.

Final Thoughts

The Honda City Sport doesn’t change the performance or mechanics, but for buyers who want something that feels a bit more special without jumping to the top trims, this one hits the sweet spot. It’s stylish, well-equipped, and keeps the core strengths of the City intact — now with a little more attitude.
