I’ve been tracking car sales for a while now, and a 47% month-on-month jump in sales isn’t common. But Honda India did it in July 2025 and the reason is clear: exports.
They sold 7,524 units last month. Domestic numbers were down to 4,050 units but exports shot up to 3,474 units. Compared to July 2024, that’s a 28.19% growth in export volume.
What’s behind this surge? Honda is shipping more Amaze, Elevate and City to right-hand-drive markets in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. I can imagine rows of shiny Hondas ready to be shipped out, all made in India.
Mr. Kunal Behl from Honda said it straight. Domestic demand was slow, so they reduced dispatches. Now with the festive season approaching, Honda is hopeful. “The Great Honda Fest” has begun with offers and even a 360° camera for Elevate and Amaze.

So yes, Honda India July Sales tell a bigger story. When the domestic market slows, smart exports keep the engine running.
