Hero Splendor Electric Bike 2025 – Real or Rumour?

Every time I hear someone say “Splendor is going electric in 2025” I smile. For millions of us the Splendor is not just a bike, it’s a daily companion. The sound of its engine in the morning, the sight of it parked outside every tea stall, it’s a part of everyday India. So when the news of a splendor electric bike with 300 km range went viral I felt it was too good to be true.

And that’s because it is. At least for now. The official factory built electric Splendor is still a few years away. Hero MotoCorp is working on one but from what I gathered it’s not coming to showrooms this year or even in 2025. The timeline points to 2027.

But here’s the part that got me excited. The Splendor already has an electric avatar on our roads, thanks to a Mumbai based startup called GoGoA1. They have created an RTO approved conversion kit that converts the regular petrol Splendor into a full electric commuter. I have seen one of these up close and the moment you twist the throttle the silence hits you. No vibrations, no engine sound, just a smooth surge forward.

The kit has a 2 kW motor that packs a surprising punch and pushes the bike to about 75-80 km/h. Depending on the battery you can get up to 151 km range which is more than enough for a week’s worth of city runs. Yes the full kit costs around ₹1 lakh but when I think of how fuel prices are climbing it suddenly feels like a smart long term play.

So is the 2025 launch real? Not quite. What’s real is the conversion kit that lets you ride your beloved Splendor in electric silence today. The factory made splendor electric bike from Hero is definitely coming but we will have to wait a little longer to see it roll out officially.
