Waiting for an off-road SUV that’s tough, modern and fully electric? The Subaru Trailseeker electric SUV might be it. Unveiled at the 2025 New York Auto Show, this all-electric adventure machine launches in Spring 2026 and has raw power, serious trail chops and daily usability that will get both explorers and eco-conscious drivers excited.
Design That’s Built for Adventure
The Trailseeker doesn’t just look the part – it’s built for the wild. You get chunky body cladding, optional 20-inch alloy wheels and a taller stance that says “let’s go somewhere wild”. Ground clearance? A confident 8.3 inches so you can tackle rough paths without worrying about scraping the underbody.
Inside it’s surprisingly roomy. More space than the current Subaru EV, the Solterra – especially in cargo and headroom. You’ll also get StarTex® water-repellent seats, dual wireless chargers and a 14.0-inch touchscreen that runs both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Power That Moves You
Powering the Trailseeker is a dual-motor setup that delivers a solid 375 horsepower – ready for both highways and backroads. That means quick response when you need to climb, merge or pass. And for long hauls? Subaru estimates the Trailseeker can go more than 260 miles before needing a recharge, giving you freedom to roam farther.
You also get 3,500 pounds of towing capacity so don’t worry about leaving your gear behind. Whether it’s bikes, kayaks or a small trailer – Trailseeker is ready.
Charging is quick too. Thanks to North American Charging Standard (NACS) support and a new battery pre-conditioning system you can charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
Built for All Weather, All Roads
This isn’t a soft-roader. Subaru tuned its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system to work seamlessly with the EV setup and added a dual-mode X-MODE® with extra grip control for tougher trails. Snow, dirt or mud – it adjusts to keep you moving confidently. Subaru includes EyeSight® Driver Assist as standard, helping you stay more confident behind the wheel.
