Electric Era Begins for Harrier
If you’ve been waiting for an electric SUV and wanted something bold, modern and Indian, Tata has made it happen. The very first Harrier EV has rolled out of the Pune plant and the electric era has begun. Launched in June and open for bookings, this SUV is no longer a concept, it’s about to hit the roads.
A New Platform for EVs
Underneath that rugged design lies Tata’s new acti.ev+ architecture, a platform designed from the ground up for electric performance. This isn’t a car with batteries bolted on. It’s been designed to be smoother, smarter and more space and weight efficient.
Power, Range and More
What’s under the hood? You get to choose between a standard-sized 65 kWh pack or go bigger with the high-capacity 75 kWh option – perfect if you want to push the range further. The 75 kWh one can go up to 627 km (ARAI certified) on a single charge – the longest in its class. In real life, expect around 480-505 km, which is pretty good.
And here’s the cherry on top: the Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) version can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds with a dual motor setup producing 504 Nm of torque. That’s quick, for an SUV. There’s also a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) version for those who want something more traditional.
Packed with Next Gen Features
Tata’s not holding back on the cool factor either. The Harrier EV comes with:
- A massive 14.53-inch Harman-Samsung Neo QLED infotainment screen
- Dolby Atmos with JBL Black 10-speaker setup
- 540° Surround View including a “transparent bonnet” feature
- Six Terrain Modes for all kinds of adventures
- Automated parking support and smartphone-based vehicle access add to the Harrier EV’s modern usability.
- DrivePay for in-car UPI payments
- The battery comes with a one-time lifetime coverage for the original private buyer, offering long-term peace of mind.
- Level 2 ADAS safety and a unique Range Polygon navigation aid
Pricing and Variants
The Harrier EV isn’t just about performance, it’s also priced smart. Prices for the Harrier EV begin at ₹21.49 lakh and go up to ₹30.23 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant you choose. You can choose from variants like Adventure, Fearless, Empowered and even a stealthy STEALTH Edition that’s all matte black.
