I didn’t expect this when I checked the news today, but Volkswagen has just slashed ₹3 lakh off the Tiguan R-Line. Launched in April at ₹49 lakh, the premium SUV now comes in at ₹46 lakh ex-showroom. That’s a big drop for something still so fresh.
Honestly, it feels like a smart course correction. The Tiguan R-Line came as a fully imported CBU, which pushed its price up. But with stiff competition from the Skoda Kodiaq and Hyundai Tucson, both of which offer more seats and are locally assembled, it needed an edge.
Still, the Tiguan R-Line has serious appeal. I sat in one recently and the cabin feels top-class. The 15-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, massaging front seats and 30-colour ambient lighting give it a real luxury vibe. It’s quick too, with a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine, 4MOTION AWD, and a 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

Safety is another big win here. You get 9 airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and more. It’s packed with features that really matter.
For anyone eyeing the Tiguan R-Line, this price cut might just be the perfect opening. A premium German SUV with strong performance and loaded tech is now a lot more within reach.
