I still remember seeing the Yamaha Tenere 700 in an overseas vlog, tearing through rocks, kicking up dust and making adventure look easy. Since then it’s been a dream for many of us in India. That dream is finally coming true.
Yamaha has confirmed the Tenere 700 is coming to India, with a launch expected around October or November 2025. It will be a CBU, so expect a premium price of around ₹12 lakh to ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom). But for those who want real adventure, the price might be worth it.
The bike comes with a 689cc CP2 parallel-twin engine making 72.4 hp and 68 Nm. It has serious off-road credentials too with fully adjustable KYB suspension, three-mode ABS and 240 mm ground clearance. The new TFT display, phone connectivity and traction control are nice to haves but the focus is on performance and durability.
Once it lands, the Tenere will compete with bikes like the Honda Transalp, Suzuki V-Strom 800DE and Triumph Tiger 900. But the Tenere 700 stands out by being simple, tough and reliable.
